A Mahomet Business Built on Experience, Family and Hometown Pride
For Cody Anderson, starting Bulldog Doors & More was about more than opening a garage door company.
It was about taking more than a decade of experience and building something under his own name. It was about creating a future for his children. Most importantly, it was about serving the same community his family calls home.
Cody launched Bulldog Doors & More in April 2025 after working for BANKCO Doors for more than 10 years. When new out-of-state owners took over the company, Cody began thinking seriously about what he wanted the next chapter of his career to look like.
The decision to start his own business was not an easy one, and it was not a decision he made alone.
The conversations happened at home, sitting on the porch with his children and talking through what taking such a big step would mean for their family.
Together, they decided it was time to take the chance.
That was the beginning of Bulldog Doors & More.

## What made you decide to start your own business?
After more than 10 years in the garage door industry, Cody knew the work inside and out. He had developed the experience, relationships and technical knowledge needed to handle everything from routine repairs to complete garage door installations.
When BANKCO changed ownership, Cody saw an opportunity to take those skills and build something that reflected his own values.
He wanted to create a company centered around dependable work, personal service and genuine relationships with customers.
He also wanted to work in the same town where he lived and where his children attended school.
Starting a business came with uncertainty, but Cody knew he would rather take the risk of building something for his family than always wonder what could have happened.

## Where did the name Bulldog Doors & More come from?
The name was no accident.
Cody wanted a business name that represented Mahomet without simply putting the town’s name on the sign.
“Bulldog” immediately connects the business to the community and the schools that have become such an important part of his family’s life.
For Cody, the name represents hometown pride, loyalty and a commitment to taking care of the people around him.
When the business first started, Cody also planned to offer a wide range of home services. That is where the “& More” came from.
As the company grew, Cody was able to focus more closely on the garage door craft he had spent over a decade perfecting. His dad, Slim, a recently retired union worker and Mahomet resident, now helps handle additional services such as handyman work, painting, flooring and other home improvement projects.
It is another part of what makes Bulldog Doors & More a true family business.

## What services does Bulldog Doors & More provide?
Located at **2012 Tin Cup Road in Mahomet**, next to Filippo’s Pizza, Bulldog Doors & More is a full-service garage door sales, installation and repair company.
Cody works on new-construction homes for some of the area’s largest builders, but he is just as proud to help a hometown neighbor whose garage door suddenly stops working.
Services include garage door installation, repairs, replacement doors, openers and maintenance. Through the “& More” side of the company, customers can also receive help with painting, flooring, handyman projects and other home improvements.
Whether the job involves installing doors on a brand-new home or making a small repair for a local family, Cody brings the same level of attention and care to each project.
For him, every customer is also a neighbor.

## How is your family involved in the business?
Cody is a single father of three children, all of whom attend Mahomet schools.
As the business grows, his children are getting an up-close look at what it takes to build and operate a local company.
His 17-year-old daughter, Rhean, can often be found helping on job sites. She greets customers, removes old hardware, assists with installing new components and, when necessary, helps hold up the long garage door sections while her dad works.
She may not always admit it, but Cody says she secretly enjoys when people around town recognize her from the company’s Facebook posts.
His 14-year-old son, Ayden, is beginning to learn more about the garage door side of the business, while 12-year-old Jayse found his place helping renovate the company’s new sales office.
For Cody, involving his children is not only about teaching them a trade.
It is about showing them the importance of hard work, responsibility and being involved in the community around them.
The business may have started with Cody’s experience, but it has quickly become something the entire family can take pride in.

## Which projects have meant the most to you?
Some of Cody’s most memorable projects have been working on the garage doors for the Mahomet Police Department and the Mahomet Fire Department.
Those jobs carried a deeper meaning because they gave him an opportunity to serve the same people who protect and serve Mahomet every day.
For Cody, it was an honor to contribute his skills to facilities that play such an important role in the community.
Since then, Bulldog Doors & More has also had the opportunity to complete work for fire departments in neighboring towns.
Those projects are reminders that a garage door is not always just another installation.
Sometimes it is a chance to give something back.

Bulldog Doors & More is not simply located in Mahomet.
Cody and his children are part of Mahomet.
They attend the schools, shop at local businesses and participate in the same events as the families Cody serves.
That connection creates a level of responsibility that goes beyond completing a job.
Cody wants customers to know who they are calling. He wants them to feel confident that the person working on their home is also their neighbor.
