There’s just something about Mahomet Music Fest weekend.

The streets fill up. Lawn chairs come out early. Kids are running around with carnival wristbands and snow cones. You hear music echoing down Main Street while neighbors stop to talk to people they haven’t seen in months. It feels like one of those weekends where the entire town shows up.

And this year’s festival lineup might be one of the biggest yet.

The 2026 Mahomet Music Festival returns to downtown Mahomet on August 28–29, 2026, bringing two full days of live music, food vendors, carnival rides, local businesses, beer tents, parades, and everything that makes small-town summer weekends memorable.

Craig Morgan Headlines Saturday Night

Saturday night’s main stage headliner is country star Craig Morgan, known for hits like That’s What I Love About Sunday, International Harvester, and Redneck Yacht Club. Morgan takes the stage at 9:00 PM on Saturday night in downtown Mahomet.

Before him, rising country artist Shane Profitt performs at 7:30 PM, followed by Mahomet native Onoleigh at 6:00 PM.

Saturday morning also brings Christian pop artist Riley Clemmons to the main stage at 11:00 AM.

Friday Night Kicks Off with Pure Summer Energy

Friday night officially launches the festival with vendors, food, carnival rides, and live music starting in the evening.

Central Illinois favorite Ninety’s Daughter hits the stage Friday night, followed by the always-wild Hairbangers Ball closing out the evening with a full-on 80s rock show.

And honestly, if you’ve been to Music Fest before, you already know Friday night downtown Mahomet has its own vibe.

More Than Just Concerts

What makes Mahomet Music Fest different is that it still feels like Mahomet.

You’ll see families parked along Main Street for the parade Saturday morning. Kids bouncing between rides and lemonade. Friends meeting up at the beer garden. Local organizations volunteering everywhere. And somewhere nearby, somebody’s probably grilling burgers while country music echoes through downtown.

The festival also includes:

  • Food vendors
  • Carnival rides
  • Craft vendors
  • Community parade
  • Bags tournament
  • Beer garden
  • Local shopping and booths throughout downtown

A Weekend That Feels Like Home

As Mahomet keeps growing, weekends like this still remind people why they love living here.

It’s one of the few times each year where downtown completely transforms into a packed community gathering place. New residents, lifelong locals, former classmates back in town for the weekend — everybody seems to end up on Main Street at some point.

And with a lineup that includes nationally known artists alongside hometown and regional performers, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest Mahomet Music Fests yet.
