Mahomet has a big comedy weekend coming up.

Yellow & Co. is bringing back its 4th Annual Comedy Competition, and this one has all the makings of a packed, high-energy weekend: 16 comics, 3 shows, 3 guest judges, audience voting, a Saturday finals show, and one winner taking home a $400 cash prize.

For a local night out, this is one of those events that gives Mahomet something a little different. Not just live comedy. Not just a show. A full competition where the crowd gets to help decide who moves forward.

Three Shows, One Winner

The competition kicks off Friday night with two shows:

Friday, May 22
6:30 PM show
8:45 PM show

Then the top comics advance to the finals:

Saturday Finals Show
7:00 PM

Eight comics will move on to Saturday night’s finals, where one winner will be crowned.

Audience Voting Makes It Even Better

Part of what makes this event fun is that the audience is not just sitting back and watching. Crowd voting plays a role in who advances, which means the room matters.

If you have ever been to a comedy show, you know the energy of the audience can completely shape the night. At Yellow & Co., that makes the competition feel even more local, more interactive, and more fun.

Friday Night’s First Show Lineup

The first Friday night show features four comics with very different styles and backgrounds.

Angie McMahon

Angie McMahon is a faculty member at The Second City and has been seen at comedy venues including Zanies, Comedy Bar, Laugh Factory, Comedy Plex, and more.

Cassandra Simpson

Cassandra Simpson brings a charming, witty, and delightfully offbeat style to the stage. Based in Central Illinois, she performs across the country and brings a fresh take on single life, sobriety, parenting, and modern womanhood.

Mark Anthony

Mark Anthony is a storytelling and observational comic based in Peoria, Illinois. His fresh, witty style has landed him on platforms including Next Stop Comedy and Don’t Tell Comedy, connecting with audiences across the Midwest and beyond.

Chris Trejos

Chris Trejos is a Costa Rican stand-up comedian whose comedy is definitely not clean. Drawing from life as a Latino immigrant in the U.S., he mixes dark humor, cultural confusion, and brutally honest storytelling. In his first year doing stand-up, he has performed in Costa Rica, Phoenix, Peoria, and Chambana.

A Local Weekend Night Out in Mahomet

This is exactly the kind of event that makes Mahomet feel alive on the weekend.

Grab friends, make it a date night, or turn it into a group outing. Between the competition format, the audience voting, and the variety of comics, each show should have its own energy.

Yellow & Co. has hosted some great comics in past competitions, and this year’s lineup looks like another strong one.
